These did not have the zing they should have so do not use the extract that they suggest in the recipe, but use essential oils instead.
1 tsp. lemon or orange essential oil
3/4 c. light oil (such as sunflower, canola or almond oil).
Mix and set aside.
1 c. baking soda
1 c. citric acid (found in health food stores or online at CoastalScents)
1/2 c. cornstarch.
Blend in oil mixture; knead until it forms a crumbly dough.
Press into molds or 6-8 jelly jar lids. Let set overnight and unmold in the morning. Use anytime by placing one tablet on your shower floor.
Keeps indefinitely if stored in a resealable plastic bag.
Notes: This fizzied nicely but the scent just was not there. Definitely replace the extract with essential or fragrance oil. You can find them online by googling "soap safe fragrance oil". I picked up a few at Coastal Scents.
I bet that if you use the EO or FO, you'll get a product not unlike Lush's shower emotibomb. After I am done with this weekend, I will be making another batch.
This recipe was found in the Woman's World Magazine.
